In this article, we will show you how to download and install node.js. So let's get started.
The first thing you need to do is open any browser that will allow you to download your Node.Js.
Now we want to search by typing node.js in the browser. When you search on any search engine, you want to click on the first link that is on the first search result. The link to that website is as follows. https://nodejs.org/en/
search node.js on browser
Now we are at. So the following image is of the home page of the node.js website.
Node.Js Website Homepage
On this website, you will see two buttons for download, one with the LTS version and the other with the current version. I would recommend you to download an LTS version.
Note: - We are doing this installation for a windows machine so we are showing you an installation for windows there. The installation steps are the same regardless of your OS.
You want to click on the button on the left. In my case, the version is
14.15.3 LTS. You may have further versions available. Clicking the button will start your download. You want to open that setup when the download is complete.
Now we will open the setup by clicking on the downloaded file. This window will appear when the setup is opened.
Now we want to click on the Next button. After clicking on the Next button, we will now go to the Next step where we want to accept the terms and license agreement and click on Next.
When it is done, now you want to select the destination folder. As per my suggestion, the default destination folder is a better choice or you can also change it. Once the destination is chosen, click on the Next button.
Now the custom setup window will open. Here you don't want to tamper with anything. Click on the direct next button.
Custom Setup Window
And now we want to tick a check-box in the next window in which we will see that "Automatically install all needed ........". When this is done, your node.js will start installing. Now you want to click on the finish button after all installation is done.
Now a command prompt window will open in front of you automatically installing the necessary tools for your node.js. If you see "press any key to continue ...." then you want to press any button. We want to press the button two or three times. When done, the command prompt window will close automatically.
Congratulations your Node.Js has been successfully downloaded and installed.
Now we want to check if it is installed correctly or not. To do this, we need to open our command prompt and type "
node -v" into it. After entering, we will see your version of node.js printed.
If you see the version printed then congratulations your Node.Js has been successfully installed and if there is any problem then follow the above steps once again. If you follow the steps correctly, there will be no problem to install a Node.Js correctly.
